My Story

Hannah, one of my best friends, has been one of my biggest inspirations over the past 6 months! Hannah and I met about 4 years ago while working at a christian book store together. We clicked instantly and, being a few of the only younger ladies employed at the store, became close friends!
Years went by and Hannah and I stayed in contact here and there but we really connected again about 7 months ago. September! I had just started doing a  body building diet and working out every day and was really motivated to finally fix some of the damage from caring my last child! Hannah and i met up for coffee and it was right about the time when i was supposed to eat one of my "meals".. and I couldn't miss it! I asked Hannah if she minded if I ate while we had coffee and she didn't mind at all. So i went away at my chicken, sweet potato and veggies!

Hannah was instantly interested in the "diet" and workout program I was doing! I remember her telling me that she basically just ate salads and smoothies and that nothing was working for her and she just couldn't get the weight off. She wasn't where she wanted to be! Her and her boyfriend of over a year had just broken up, which was one of the causes of her recent weight gain. As soon as i got home, i jumped on the computer and messaged her the guidelines for the diet, some of my role models to follow on FB and my workout plan :) After that, she was set! She took a trip to Seattle and when she got back, she was ALL in. That was it. A fire was lit underneath of her.

She stocked her food with healthy food, she got magazine subscriptions to health magazines, she did her research, she was at the gym every day 5-6 days a week! The pounds started melting away. I think she lost the first 10lbs doing the body building diet (lean meats, eggs, green veggies and complex carbs like sweet potatoes and brown rice, or oatmeal) before playing around with some other food options.

She tried several different styles of eating for her body. Her favorite is PALEO (The diet that my family and I are on and will be for the rest of our lives)! We try to get together every other week to make dinner and try out our paleo recipes :) It is so much fun and something we enjoy doing together! She started drinking shakeology in the morning and it has completely cleared up her face and helped her to stay fuller longer! She is so creative and always sharing with me new ideas of how we can spice up our plates! Her original diet was lacking PROTEIN, HEALTHY FAT and substance. She wasn't getting the calories she needed to fuel her body. She would go all day without eating and then make bad food choices. All that has changed, let me tell you!

Below: A lunch Hannah and I got from the "Not so Fast Food Truck" in San Diego! Its all paleo, of course :)

I am so incredibly proud of her! Hannah has lost 40lbs to date and is continually working towards her goals! You can't motivate someone enough to change their life around. Maybe at first. A little spark of motivation can get them started, but the decision is THEIRS! I have so much respect for how much hard work and dedication this girl has. She is currently working 2 jobs as well as taking on starting her business as a beach body coach! She is on the worship team at her church and has so many other activities and do-good things she does. All while finding time to work out and live a healthy lifestyle!

Below: Hannah's bod TODAY :) 40lbs down! An amazing accomplishment!

I may have encouraged Hannah to make some changes to her lifestyle in the beginning, but SHE was the one who did all of the work. She woke up every morning and worked out or went for a beach run, she was the one who did her meal prep, went grocery shopping, said NO to yuck processed foods that are toxic to our bodies. SHE was the one who applied herself... who researched diets and workouts and made them her own and applied it to her life and made it work for HER!

Tonight, I found myself talking to my sister about how Hannah was a "beast"... as in, STRONG! Something I would love to have someone say about me! We were talking about how she goes above and beyond and we need to step it up. She just keeps checking things off her goals list... setting them and achieving them!

Hannah is participating in my May challenge group for beach body and she is going to KILL IT! She is setting the bar high and I am so thankful for that. She motivates me to be a better person and inspires me with her dedication! I think she will do the same for all the other challengers in our group! Keep your eyes on this girl.. She is reaching for the stars and I guarantee she is going to be living the life of her dreams very SOON!

Each and every one of us is capable of achieving results like Hannah has. Deciding you are all in and that you are going to put your all into it is half the battle. You need to know that you are worth the effort, you are worth the hard work! You deserve to live a happy life beyond belief! Start with your HABITS. Start creating new, healthy habits. Habits that will carry you in the direction of success! Every single thing you DO, EAT and THINK are either carrying you further from or closer to your goals!
